BTRC has joined forces with Brain Tumour Research – launched specifically to raise substantial funds for brain tumour research.
In the UK more children and people under the age of 40 die of a brain tumour than any other cancer – yet brain tumour research is woefully under-funded!
Brain Tumour Research aims to change that bringing better hope and care to thousands of brain tumour patients and their families through raising at least £7million per year to fund world class brain tumour research programmes and projects at UK universities where brain tumour research is already established. This will accelerate progress significantly, making a clinical difference and improving outcomes.
Brought together by their shared experiences, Brain Tumour Research and the following charities:

- Astro Fund
- Brain and Spine Foundation (National)
- Brain Tumour Action (Scotland and Northern England)

- Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre (East Midlands)
- Ellie Savage Memorial Trust (East Anglia)
- Hammer Out (South West)
- Levi’s Star
- Thorn Mason Trust
are rallying the support of MP’s, organising fundraising activities up and down the country, and engaging their local press and radio stations to promote awareness.
Each of the charities has a different focus brought about by their own experiences of the needs of the Brain Tumour Community. Brain Tumour Action, Brainwaves and The Brain and Spine Foundation were started over ten years ago, whilst the likes of Ali’ s Dream, Andrea’s Gift, Brain Tumour Research, The Ellie Savage Memorial Trust and Hammer Out have only just started out.
